Michael’s Mercer Raceway’s COVID clash and American Heritage night kicks off 2020 schedule Saturday June 27th 2020.

After not being able to open for almost 3 months Michaels Mercer Raceway wars back into action Saturday night June 27th with the COVID clash and American Heritage night at the historic 3/8 mile bent egg oval.
On the cars will be our regular fast 5 divisions consisting of
•Big Block Modifieds
•Fastrak Limited Modifieds
•Racesaver 305 Sprints
We will also have the Shaun Hooks sanctioned Penn-Ohio Pro Stocks racing for $1000 to win and also Jr sprints.
We will also be celebrating American heritage night as we celebrate our great nation both past and present and a salute to all of those who have fought for this country and who are currently serving our country. We are also honoring all those who have made a historical impact in professional auto racing both national and local. We are asking all fans in the stands and those in the pits to proudly bring an American flag and/or also a confederate flag to salute this great country we are privileged to live in.
Pit gates open at 3pm;Grandstands at 4pm;Hot laps 5 pm; Racing at 6pm
Grandstand admission $15 $13 for senior citizens..kids 13 and under are free
Pit passes are $35 seniors are $30 and kids 10 and under $30
Please go to our website and print out the registration form and have your transponder number for us to enter into our system . ALL cars must have a working transponder and raceiver including mini stocks and they must be for the AMBIT system as the yellow ones will not work
The bread and butter of Mercer since 1951, the big block Modifieds will return as the weekly headliner division and will be showcased on August 8 with the 2nd annual Michaels memorial BRP modified tour paying $5000 to win. Veteran Rex King Sr., last years point champ will return to defend his title in 2020.
The Penn Ohio pro stocks always bring a large field of cars as drivers from all over the area compete with the same rules which allows more cars enable to race at all tracks . Two of the Mercer veterans and on top of the win list Rusty Moore and Andy Buckley should be on hand to defend their turf against any outside invaders. And with the $1000 to win it should pull in a lot of cars for the event
The FASTRAK limited modifieds with the crate 602 motor will return for their 2nd season as first time track champ Brian Shaffer will be back to defend his crown against a bevy of heavy hitters.
History was made in the Mod Lite division as 18 year old Vivian Jones became the first female in the 69 year history of the speedway to win the track championship. Many new drivers will be challenging Vivian for the top spot.
The Racesaver 305 sprints had an up and down season with car counts but Jake Gamola emerged victorious for his first Mercer championship. Many drivers have moved up from the mod lites and young guns and should help fill the field weekly in competition.
The mini stocks provided the best competition of the year with averaging over 24 cars nightly all battling for the top spot. Last years champion Joe Campbell will be back to defend his crown.
