Michaels Mercer Raceway Postpones Grand Opening;
Racing to Resume May 4
(Mercer, PA April 27, 2019): Due to wet grounds, Michaels Mercer Raceway must wait another week to celebrate the grand opening. “We are disappointed to postpone the race,” said new owner Edward Michaels, “but we just had too much rain the last few days. The parking areas and the pits would have been to soft and wet for the fans and the racers.”
Big Block Modifieds, Fastrak Modifieds, Mod Lites, Mini Stocks and Pro Stocks will be in action, along with the first appearance of the Junior Sprints. That division was started a few years ago to introduce youngsters to the sport, and it has already produced several graduates into more advanced classes.
It will be the first night of championship points competition for the Diehl Ram Big Block Modifieds, the Turn 4 Toilet Rentals Fastrack Limited Modifieds, The Barris Trucking Modified Lites, and the Ray’s Racing Collectibles/Eperthener Auto Wrecking Mini Stocks.
Pit gates will open at 4 p.m and the front gates will open at 5. Practice will be at 6:30, with racing to start at 7.
